It is revealed in AHKJ Exiled that Maurice is 'The Chosen One' Maurice usually takes charge of serious situations or is forced to by King Julien and Clover, and despite his serious appearance, he is known to be soft inside and very emotional, as almost all of the kingdom teases him about it. According to Masikura, he and Julien met when they were babies during Prince Barty and Princess Julienne's camp near the Aye-Aye Kingdom. Maurice: Formerly Prince Julien's caretaker, Maurice is the royal advisor of King Julien, and does most of the king's duties and is one of the most responsible lemurs in the kingdom.The key to his success was his loyal and kind friends in the kingdom. His Royal Circle assisted him at any time, and loyally guided him down the right path.
However, he gradually becomes a better king, showing how much he loves his kingdom, and values his kingdom like his life. He is known for bringing peace and joy back to the kingdom after it was forbidden by his uncle. But the day after that, he bravely faced the fossa in their territory itself, and rescued his kingdom with his smooth dance moves.
He started poorly on his coronation night and caused half of the kingdom to go missing and the other half captured by fossa attack.
